Daniel-Ryan Spaulding: One Man Show

Comedian Daniel-Ryan Spaulding is back at the Mezrab!

This show will be the (workshopping) debut of his first theater show aimed at touring the Netherlands! Tuesday April 18th at Mezrab guarantees to be sassy, heartfelt, smart & REAL!

The performance delves into a personal journey set within the social & political dynamics of present-day Amsterdam. Armed with the Truth, the good, the bad & the ugly — Daniel-Ryan Spaulding aims to ask the question: Can you be an Amsterdamer without being Dutch? — who ultimately defines our identity?

In the spirit of Dutch Kabaret, the show is mix of stand-up comedy and storytelling . He explores the ups & downs of Expat life, sexuality & dating, and the strange social climate of Holland (and the world) in 2017. The show is a fine balance between comedy & tragedy, with stories reflecting personal triumph, but also failure & embarrassment. As Carrie Fisher Said: “If my life wasn’t funny it would just be true, and that is unacceptable.”
