Since we consider our evenings at Mezrab as our creative playground, we’ll try out a bunch of sizzling hot new tunes we are working on. Highly danceable fresh new repertoire that is developing towards our new and adventurous 2024 album, to be produced by Ulf ‘Dunkelbunt’ Lindemann!

Second set: FOLKDIVIZJON
From Sweden we have the young and talented musicians of
Folkdivizjon. 8 people from different musical backgrounds from Malmö, Sweden. They started playing on the street with lezmer music, enriched with elements of Balkan and jazz. After playing all over Sweden, breaking audience records at Korröfestivalen, and being recorded by Swedish Radio several times, they are now one of the hottest young bands in their genre. With gusto and power. They play everything from beautiful ballads to highly danceable footage. The screaming woodwind, peppery brass and pulsating bass drums will give you an experience like no other!

We are excited to present our other special guest of the evening: Explosive sets, electronic-instrumental crossovers, groovy and eclectic sounds: globally-minded Ulf Lindemann – aka [dunkelbunt] – currently based in Vienna, is pursuing a genuinely transglobal agenda as a DJ, producer, soloist and band leader. For the past 25 years he has been one of Europe’s most innovative protagonists on the electronic and world music scenes.
With his finger on the pulse of cutting-edge club music, the composer and his multinational band make contemporary musical statements, setting the tone for how WORLD | MUSIC should sound today: 15 languages on stage, a transglobal sound aesthetic merging Oriental and Occidental with electronic beats – all this combines to create an intelligent and energetic mix guaranteed to make for a jumping live experience.
