Caribbean and Colombian singer/composer Juliana Martina brings together the soulful rhythms of South-American folklore with the lively expressions of Latin Jazz in her debut album ‘Laman’. Laman means sea in Papiamentu, the language spoken on the Caribbean islands of Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire. Influenced by artists such as Gretchen Parlato, Claudia Acuña and Esperanza Spalding, Juliana shows her mastery in merging together different cultural influences. Energetic grooves, beautiful melodies and poetic lyrics come together to captivate the audience with their universal gravity. Supported by her exceptional quartet Juliana brings her vibrant musical vision to life on her album and on stage.
